Tribute to the memory of Martyrs - 2022

Every year 14th of April is observed all over the Nation as National Fire Service Day. A commemoration parade is held in which all fire personnel who lost their lives in line of duty are paid homage. From 14th to 20th of April, Fire Service Week is celebrated. 

To commemorate this, a martyrs memorial column was erected at the Directorate of Fire and Rescue Services, Egmore at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 lakhs and it was inaugurated by the Honourable Chief Minister of Tamilnadu on 12.04.2022.

In this regard, the head of the state police force DGP Dr. C. Sylendra Babu IPS, The Director of Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services, DGP Shri. Braj Kishore Ravi IPS, Chairman and Managing Director of Tamil Nadu Police Housing Corporation DGP Shri. A.K. Viswanathan IPS paid homage to the memorial and laid wreaths at the memorial column on 14.04.2022 at 08:00 AM.

This event was attended by many senior officials from Tamilnadu Police and Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services Department.
