Cycle rally to spread Fire Safety Message

            As a part of the Fire Service week, Department of Fire and Rescue Services organised a cycle rally, with 50 fire service personnel from Northern region as participants on 14.04.2021. The rally was organised in view of observing fire safety week from April 14 to April 20 under the theme “Maintenance of fire safety equipment is the key to mitigate fire hazards”. The Director of Tamilnadu Fire and Rescue Services, DGP Dr. C. Sylendra Babu IPS flagged off the rally from the Tambaram training centre. The team paid homage to all the firemen who had lost their lives during their service in all fire stations across the state, besides creating awareness among the people on the service rendered by the department, and maintenance of fire fighting equipment. The cycle rally covered 200 kilometre from Tambaram training centre, Sriperumbudur, Kanchipuram and Mamallapuram before returning to the training centre eventually.

           As many as 45 firefighters including District officers took out a 189 kilometre cycle rally from villupuram to Trichy to disseminate the awareness among people about fire safety as a part of the Fire Service Week. The rally was organised by Tamil Nadu fire and rescue services department (Central Region) and was flagged off from the villupuram fire station by District collector Thiru. A. Annadurai. The team reached the Trichy fire station via Ulundurpettai, Veppur, Perambalur,  Samayapuram. The firefighters took up the rally braving the scorching heat and it was an exercise carried out to improve the endurance, strength and team work as well.
